Promotion: Karaoke Competition 1.0 - 2024

Terms & Conditions

ELIGIBILITY

  • The Redcliffe Leagues Club Karaoke Competition is open to amateur performers only. Strictly no professionals. An amateur is deemed as someone who has not earned over $1000 in prize money or wages in the past 12 months for singing.
  • All entrants must be over 15 years of age. Contestants under 18 must have parental consent and supervision.
  • Solo performers only.

REGISTRATION

  • Participants can register for the competition by filling in the registration form which includes their name, contact details, song choice and social media handle (optional).
  • Registration is open from 6PM onwards.
  • Registration closes as soon as fifteen (15) entrants have registered on the night unless the event coordinator allows for more entrants on the night.
  • Unsuccessful contestants may register again for the heats on another week.

DATES

  • WARM-UPS:  March 20 & 27, 2024.
  • HEATS:  April 3, 10, 17, 24, 2024.
  • QUARTERFINALS:  May 1 & 8, 2024.
  • SEMI-FINALS:  May 15, 2024.
  • GRAND-FINAL:  May 22, 2024.

COMPETITION FORMAT

  • TEN (10) singers from each Heat will advance to the Quarterfinals (a total of 40 singers).
  • The top ten from Heat 1 and Heat 2 will perform on the first night of the Quarterfinals (total of 20 singers on May 1). The top 10 will advance to the Semi-Finals.
  • The top ten from Heat 3 and Heat 4 will perform on the second night of the Quarterfinals (total of 20 singers on May 8). The top 10 will advance to the Semi-Finals.
  • The 20 singers that advanced from Quarterfinals will sing on the Semi-Finals (May 15). The top ten advances to the Grand-Finals.
  • Ten singers will perform a song each on the night of the Grand-Finals (May 22).
  • Judges will decide the top 3 singers on the night.

JUDGING

  • Judging will be based on vocal ability, stage presence, audience reaction, and presentation.
  • The judge’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • Should an incident happen on or off the stage that may affect the singer’s performance, judges may allow the singer to redo their performance from the start.
  • Judges reserve the right to disallow/disqualify a competitor from performing if the singer is not displaying appropriate behaviour.

PRIZES

  • GRAND FINAL 1st Prize - $1,500
  • GRAND FINAL 2nd Prize - $500
  • GRAND FINAL 3rd Prize - $200

COMPETITION POLICIES

  • Contestants are required to sing one (1) song for each performance and no song is to be repeated by a performer during the night of the performance. Musical instruments are not to be played but may be used as props.
  • Song Selections are to be based on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • By entering the competition you agree not to hold the organisers or the Redcliffe Leagues Club responsible for any loss, damage, injury or claim whatsoever.
  • Contestants under 18 will be allowed to remain at the Club after 9pm for their performance but all other under 18s are required to leave the Club after 9pm as per the Club’s rules.
  • Club regulations and dress rules apply.
  • By entering the competition, you give Redcliffe Leagues Club your consent to take photos and videos for social media purposes. Redcliffe Leagues Club may post footage of your performance on social media.
  • Obscene, offensive, or inappropriate song choices are strictly prohibited.
  • In the event of cancellation, no compensation will be provided to any participant.
  • Redcliffe Leagues Club reserves to modify, suspend or cancel the competition for any reason.
  • The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
