SMALL TOWN VIBE

Here at Redcliffe Leagues Club we pride ourselves on our friendly atmosphere. Our Membership base is over 40,000 Members strong with over 200 staff, but when walking through our facility that ‘small town’ vibe can be felt throughout our Club.

We are continually working on improvements within our venue, our food and beverage offering, our entertainment and the huge range of affiliate businesses that are located within our grounds.

The community is vitally important to us, and with this in mind, we created a state-of-the-art fitness and aquatic centre, which can be found directly behind the Club. Dolphins Fitness & Aquatic features two indoor swimming pools, a gym, creche and associated health professionals. Click here to be taken to Dolphins Fitness & Aquatic website.

Also within our grounds is Dolphins Central Shopping Centre which is adjacent to the Club. The Centre provides our community with a full-sized Coles and a variety of specialty stores for locals to access quickly and easily.

Another community initiative that we are extremely proud of is our on-site stadium. Kayo Stadium is a 10,000-capacity multi-purpose stadium which is home to the Redcliffe Dolphins QRL Team. As well as rugby league, it also hosts various sporting codes and with the recent addition of broadcast-quality lighting, televised NRL games are also possible. The positive impact of Kayo Stadium has strengthened tourism within our region.

CLUB HISTORY

The 1960’s were described as a ‘coming of age’ decade for the Redcliffe District Rugby League Football Club and as they looked towards the 1970’s, the priority was to set up a licensed club trading from 10am to 10pm seven days a week.

The clubhouse had a nice bar area already established, but to meet the requirements of the liquor laws in relation to licensed premises, alterations had to be carried out firstly to meet those pressures and later in the decade to accommodate the Club's membership growth.

As a revenue raiser and from a social point of view, it met the criteria of its charter: “To foster Rugby League and for its members to enjoy a convivial meeting place where a common bond may be enjoyed.”

As the years went by and the popularity of Rugby League grew in Redcliffe, the Leagues Club continued to grow as well. The success of the Dolphins on the football field has been mirrored by the success of the Leagues Club in the community.
